Oh Happy Day!

Isaiah 43:5

Fear not, for I am with you;
    I will bring your children from the east
    and gather you from the west.

The day we hoped would come has finally arrived!

As we wait in the government office for our family's name to be called and receive our new daughter, we pray that Ruby makes a smooth transition and that she is able to attach quickly. Amen.

    Ruby's eyes have so much joy. She's so beautiful!
    Everyday our family has been praying for you.
    I'm sure you have experienced a wave of different emotions, as you transition from a family of 5 O's to 6. There will be ups and downs, but the ups will carry you through the downs. We will also be praying the rest of the adoption paperwork and embassy goes well. And that each passing day, your relationship will be strengthened, trust will be formed, and wonderful memories will be made.
    We are so happy for you! May God strengthen you and give you wisdom as you seek Him.

Today is the one year anniversary of Ruby’s Gotcha Day. I will never forget the moment I saw her for the first time in person. She was across the waiting room in the arms of one of the orphanage staff. At first we weren’t sure it was her because she was SO small, but she was wearing the shirt from the outfit I sent to the orphanage in a care package. Up to this point we only saw her in four pictures and three, six-second videos which I watched over and over every day studying this beautiful little being. I studied her thin, patchy hair, knobby knees, beautiful eyes and how one is smaller than the other and how she was fascinated by her hands and played with them as if they were her only toys.
